TASK Services
Anyone can call for disability information or
assistance. All calls are confidential.
All services are free. We serve
Tazewell and surrounding counties.
We can help you find services and information to assist
with any disability issues including:
Education: Provide information about the
special education process, evaluations and IEP's.
Medical: Referrals for a variety of
services available both locally and statewide.
Referrals: To local mental
health, intellectual disability and in-home
service providers.
Advocacy: Director attends meetings
with families as an advocate.

Helping with juvenile justice issues

Public awareness of disability issues

Support groups for families and relative caregivers

Assistance for children with special needs in foster care

Local and state-wide advocacy to improve the laws protecting the
rights of citizens' with disabilities

Summer Enrichment Program for special education
students.
Summer Enrichment Program (SEP)
The TASK
SEP is a four-week summer program for Tazewell County special
education students. The summer program is held in cooperation
with the Tazewell County Public Schools. Educational programs
are provided according to each child's IEP.

Recreational programs include swimming, bowling, and museum visits.
Transportation and meals are also provided free of charge.
Applications are distributed through each child's special education
teacher in May/June. Any Tazewell County student
with an IEP can qualify to attend the summer program. The
program is free, including meals and transportation.
